Could someone explain the discount process to me? I like the idea of the discount but will the phone(s) be purchased through the sprint website? What information do we have to provide to get the discount applied? Are there phones set aside for studentrate members? Has anyone here ever bought a phone using this site?

The link posted tomor for the pre-order will bring you to the Apple site to purchase the phone(s). You can purchase from any of the carriers. Then after you order just send an email to support@studentrate.com with the info for the primary account holder on your account...
AT&T - Apple Order Number, First Name, Last Name, Mobile Number, last 4 of SSN, billing zip code
Sprint - Apple Order Number, First Name, Last Name, Mobile Number, Billing Address and your email address.
Verizon - Apple Order Number, First Name Last Name, Mobile Number, last 4 of ssn, billing zip code

We have been told they will. if they dont then we will let everyone know what plan b is -- and we do have a plan B.

Yea I was curious also. I have the AppStore application on my iPhone right now and Sprint isn't available. All it says is that we can buy it from a store.

The site for the deal says "Current Promotions: Preorder iPhone 4...". Is that only referring to the 8GB model? I want to get the 4s with the discount.

I'm planning to get a family plan under at&t, but I want to know what the discount applies to and what it doesn't apply to? Like data, texts, and such. Or is just the total bill?
I basically want to know the limitations.

Good. I really want that discount, but only on the newer model. I have to wait until tomorrow night to order it because of Yom Kippur. Leave one for me, folks!

Went to Best Buy and preordered it, because I spoke to a Sprint rep in the mall today and learned they are NOT doing pre-order pricing. You have to buy the phone outright, or be put on a "wait list". There is no $50 preorder for the iPhone 4S via Sprint. As far as I could see with Apple, they were putting off "new" Sprint customers until tomorrow. As I saw Best Buy was already sold out of some models for A&T, I decided not to wait until tomorrow.
Best Buy was actually pretty awesome. $50 down, $15 insurance plan per month, no restriction on how many times you break your phone (AWESOME), and a guaranteed buy back plan. I'm set up with an appointment to get and set up my phone with them next Friday. No waiting in line, no hassle. With any added luck, StudentRate might take that confirmation number! If not, I'm honestly just happy I know I'll have it. Still have the 3G. It's been time to move on for so long.
