I guess there was some problems with your account but it looks like you're going to get the discount still so that's good! :o)

Yea, it suddenly cancelled over the weekend, so I redid the order directly from Sprint this time. And they're still giving me the discount. So it's all good. :) Lucky me to have this happen to me though. Either way, I'm just glad things have finally been squared away.

[quote=Whyze]Still waiting for my email follow-up regarding rebates, discounts, and any other information from Studentrate.[/quote
I am also still waiting for such an email as I still need to know all the rebate and discount details.
. Also it would have been nice if they told us:
1) that we would be charged an activation fee when promised free activation
2) overnight shipping would actually be 3 to 4 day shipping
3) the phone would have tax xharged on it unlike if you ordered it from amazon or wirefly
4) the student rate rebate would not be applied to our phone purchase. (when and how will we be getting the rebates?)
I have just gotten my sprint bill and there is no discount applied either.
This is not what was promised or implied and I am very unhappy.

you are right i should not have deleted your post and for that i apologize. we at studentrate are the facilitators for the offers we receive from our partners and in turn offer to you our members. we are NOT a dealer of sprint or any other carrier for that matter. in this situation we have been let down by our partners in terms of their moving targets of what is being offered and what is not. so we are trying to make everyone happy. Once again please accept my apologies.
As studentrate we will do our best to make everyone happy and remedy the situation to the best of our abilities. thanks again for reminding us why we are here.

Here's the email reply I got back regarding the discount/rebate:
You will see the discount on your account within 1-2 billing cycles and the $35 rebate will be mailed in 6-8 weeks.

I have 2 questions,
If I upgrade my own phone and my wife's (family plan), will I get 2 rebates?
Also, is there a way to find out what the discount on the monthly charges will be ahead of time?
Thanks

I am still confused. I never got an email with instructions. What will happen with the shipping and activation fees that I was charged?

On my first billing statement from Sprint there are almost $50 worth of Shipping and Activation charges. I'm also not seeing any sort of student discount on my plan rate.
I've emailed my one 2 contact(s) at StudentRate and am awaiting a reply.
So let me recap my experience with StudentRate and this deal:
The original deal: My experience
The HTC EVO 3D is almost here!! The expected release date of the device is June 4, 2011... Didn't Happen. Device actually arrived 3 days after release. - Not a big deal to me and there was a weekend in there so it's understandable...
For new lines and add a lines -- you will get
$35.00 StudentRate Rebate - I'm still waiting on this. I was told (only after emailing for details) that the rebate will be mailed in 6-8 weeks. It's been more than 8 since I pre-ordered, but only 4-5 weeks since I've had my phone, so this one is still in waiting too I've gone through 2 billing cycles and still haven't received any sort of credit. * I'm now on my 3rd billing period and still haven't seen the rebate.*
$50.00 Account Credit I was told this credit will appear on my account within the first "1-2 billing cycles". It hasn't appeared on my first cycle, so I'm waiting to see if it appears on the next one. I've gone through 2 3 billing cycles and still haven't received this credit.
$125.00 Account Credit if you are Migrating a Number from a Qualified Carrier This promo was later redacted. Then Sprint extended the dates on the deal and made it appear like we were able to get this credit. I've submitted my request for the credit and am awaiting further action. The credit itself isn't Studentrate's obligation, but the fact that the original promo that I agreed to offered it certainly seems to make them responsible for following through. Sprint actually just came through with this credit for me. It appeared on my 3rd bill. Yay Sprint!
Free Shipping Having just received my first bill, it shows a shipping charge of about $12. - 3 Billing cycles in, still no reimbursement for this charge from Studentrate. Further into this thread, they seem to be claiming it's Sprint's fault, not theirs.
Waived Activation Fee My first bill shows an activation fee of $35 - 3 billing cycles in, and still no reimbursement for this charge.
Discounts on Your Monthly Service* My current bill doesn't show any discounts to my monthly service. Again, this one may not apply until the second billing cycle, but at this point I'm not holding my breathe... This is the only part of the promo that has properly completed for me. I'm getting a discount on my plan (sadly, the $8+ dollars in "surcharges" that Sprint attaches each month cancel out the majority of this discount..but that's not StudentRate's fault. - For the record, the same "Surcharge" fee was under $3 when I was with Verizon.)
So by my count, that makes Studentrate BAD on 4 of the 6. I'll report back in another month when I get my next bill and see if they manage to get anything they offered correct. Regardless, I'm certain I won't be recommending Studentrate to anyone looking to score a phone deal....

It's already August and I haven't received any discounts, rebates,
reimbursements, etc. I was billed 213$ for each of 2 phones I ordered
through studentrate, not including the 40$ activation fee for each
phone, as well as 10$ in surcharges and another 12$ for taxes. The plan
does not show a discount either. I would really appreciate a response
from one of the managers at Studentrate. I emailed Chris Ellmore
recently, and I'll update with the response I receive.

The person you have e-mailed does not work for StudentRate.com please send your information and status to sprint@studentrate.com and we will take care of it. Sorry about the confusion.

Is this deal still going on? Just curious. I am looking to get a new phone, and the Evo 3D is definitely on the list of possibles, so this would be awesome.

The discount should have been reflected on your sprint account (it will show up as a line item on your invoice). The rebates for the evo 3d has not gone out yet. we will be sending those out soon.

What about the Shipping and activation charges? Are those going to be refunded soon also?

the activation charges are something that is with sprint not with us. but we are trying to resolve this issue with the sprint authorized people.

But the promo was advertised from you. I didn't deal with Sprint for my promo, I dealt with you (Studentrate).
Are you saying I should be contacting Sprint over this? Do I tell them "Student rate said the activation fee and shipping charges would be waived"?
I don't understand how you can offer one thing - get people to sign up under the context of that offer - and then not follow through by simply passing the buck and saying it's not you that is responsible for the follow through.
I get that it sounds crappy if Sprint isn't doing what they said they'd do..but as a business that chooses to partner with them, it's your obligation to pick up their slack (and perhaps good business practice to cease doing business with them..)and support YOUR customers.
Please let me know who I should be directing this to if this isn't the appropriate venue.
